 I've been waiting for someone to make this thread--I had thought about doing it on several occasions but  .isk posted:CDPR is giving me a 20% discount for preordering at GOG because I bought the prior Witcher games thru them. That's the kind of fan loyalty I can dig. I'll add that you can also get up to a 20% discount on GOG (10% for each game) even if you purchased it on Steam. Get your CD key from Steam (Library -> Click Game, then right side under Links) and go here: http://www.gog.com/witcher/backup Obviously you'll need to be logged in. Buying it through GOG is the way to go. Support DRM-free gaming, goons. The more people who buy it through GOG the better. Yes, it's true, you won't have Steam achievements, but think of how much more immersed you'll be.  On a related note, I too, enjoyed both Witcher games. The first one is definitely a bit wonky, you just have to remember it's not really an action RPG, it's dice rolls hidden behind sword swings. Also there's a mod that fixes that weird poo poo with the detective quest. I'll probably replay the first one for shits and giggles, but I'm waiting for The Rise of the White Wolf guys to release their new version so I can give that a try. e. goddammit first post in the thread and I miss the snipe.

Yeah it's definitely broken--it only works if you use only the arrow keys to move it. Aim directly at the dude with the feather in his cap and slightly below him. IIRC, Geralt should say "one and a half degrees."

Jesus H. Christ, you have used literally (seriously) zero capital letters in any of your posts; I don't even know how the gently caress that's possible. You have paragraphs, at least. Your Shift key is right below your Return key--use it for gently caress's sake. Back on topic: Has anyone played TW1 with the new 'Enhanced Edition' of Rise of the White Wolf? How is it? It looks interesting, might do a playthrough with that + FCR here shortly. But before that, I own New Vegas and have never played it and you guys have convinced me to install it.

In W2 weren't all skills combat skills, aside from a few that affected potions that could still arguably be considered "combat" skills? Or am I crazy?

I have decided to do an Insanity playthrough of TW2 and get the other achievements I'm missing... Like killing all the trolls since I'm not a complete bastard and never got that. For some reason I thought Insane was Dark mode with no deaths but it's actually Hard mode with no deaths, and Hard is way way easier.

Someone more learned in the books may correct me on this though. The crafting requirements for the Dark weapon sets are a bit bonkers, and there's some stuff that's really hard to get enough of if you don't buy enough for all three sets in the first chapter (Hardened Leather is one of them, I think). The effect is cool but if you're trying to do a full playthrough and can put up with it... ^^^I didn't save Saskia because it's implied you may be able to save her another way down the road (although I doubt this will actually appear in TW3, honestly). I didn't kill her, she's just still bound to the dagger or whatever. Mostly because opting to save Triss is a way better story/outcome, imo. Keep in mind they want people to be able to make this their first Witcher game, so I'm not expecting ~big changes~ in the political state of the world based on previous decisions. Mostly just shout-outs, subtle references, etc. and I'm totally fine with that. Lycus posted:They're down on magic? I have fairly autistic/completionist playthroughs of both Iorveth and Roche's path. I believe only the Iorveth one has the tattoo. I can check if some Goons wanted to use my save files instead of that dude on the CDPR forums just for the tattoo. Iorveth: -Saved Aryan -Saved Stennis -Saskia still bound to dagger or whatever but not dead -Saved Triss and went murdertown on all the Nilfgaardians -Sile alive -Letho alive -Little sidequest in Epilogue to save Iorveth completed -Tattoo not removed -Trolls not murdered Literally every sidequest/other thing done in a neutral/good/not-an-rear end in a top hat manner. It was a Dark playthrough and I think I have all the dark equipment, or maybe just the last set. I'd have to double check.
