If you're going to mod pickaxes to not break, why not just ignore them and mod the MM to be faster.

No. This game is bad, Terraria is good

One day a Chucklefish employee is going to mention he found a shortcut to/from work and Tiy is going to flip out on him for not slashing his tires to balance the time saved

Rework the outpost/quest system to be more like Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Start a crew and send them out on dispatches

Slime posted:I have no idea what they were thinking making you fly over to a gate to teleport to the outpost, and then require you to walk back to the gate in order to get back to your ship. I actually like this because it's a nice scene transition. Makes it feel special

Why are pickaxes and bandages made of plant fibers a thing. Why does Starbound's flavor swing so wildly
|
# ¿ Feb 7, 2015 18:23 |
|
Yeah but why are they pickaxes instead of overcharged MM cells and why are bandages bandages made of plants instead of stimpacks or medkits made of sci fi stuff

Like bandages, okay, Starbound's a little cartoony, I can see bandages taking the place of potions. But then it's like someone added one of those tactical realism mods from Minecraft and now bandages are made of vine fibers. An already slightly jarring bit of flavor suddenly gets very jarring

ZypherIM posted:Man of all the things you could pick to complain about, you pick that you don't like bandages made out of plant fiber? That just seems .. odd. I'd complain that they're annoying to use and gently caress up combat balance because either you can spam them and never die (forcing enemies to do really swingy amounts of damage), or they're worthless because they won't save you anyways. There is a reason that more games are moving towards having only a measured amount of healing available, and that is so combat balance isn't retarded. Aaaaaaaa shoot I wasted my one (1) complaint about Starbound h**************ck

I don't like how all the furniture in Starbound is at a 45 degree angle to the walls. It looks good for some, but a lot of it clashes for me

Yeah why is the Earthbound dialogue box being used in the Starbound thread. Earthbound in Starbound. Earthbound. Starbound.

My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to develop a game. If you'd like to play it I can design it for you. Yes, I'd like to play it, TIY. Design it for me. It's called "Starbound".

in my opinion they should make the game fun to play by making exploration and resource collection interesting and not a boring slog of clashing balance penalties but that's just One Girl's Opinion

Their initial goal was just "terraria but in space" which is a really terrible goal, and now they seem to just not know what they want. haha if only starbound about page posted:As developers, we’ve been inspired by all the games we grew up playing. From isometric 80s classics to Castlevania, Zelda, Metroid. Celebrated platformers like Mario and Sonic, RPGs such as Elder Scrolls and Ultima, and iconic handheld games such as Pokemon. the best part about building towns in a 2d game is they're all extremely long or packed on top of each other and you have to walk through everyone's house to get to the other side
