IIRC the problem here was that during development, they were supposed to do a (say) 10,000 mile road test to find all the problems, but they didn't have time to do it properly: so they simply went round and round a test track until they racked up enough miles to tick that box. Which of course meant that the cooling system has a nice easy time of it.
