I think the requirement is for CMEOs to be black lovely Chiefs, helps if they're the president of the "I'm awesome" club. Our DAPA is definitely a drunk. He doesn't seem to have a problem though. Actually he's REALLY good at it. Helps that CMC is a sexist drunk, too.

ActusRhesus posted:former JAG. Okay, so my kid beat up a little racist kid at school. His folks went to security (not mad - i would have too.) We got called in by CID for his pre-CAF interview where they mirandized him (like, no poo poo, same words) and had him initial each line item. (Standard Navy.) He's a teenager. In 8th grade. But when they said "lawyer," I said "Yup, that." Because last time we went to CAF, a bunch of punk kids used him as a scapegoat and I aint haven' that again. Only problem is that I can't find a lawyer. Because we're on base. And all of the legal beagles say "We don't do CAF hearings, that's not a legal thing." But CID said "You have the right to an attorney and if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you." This is not CA, I can't look in the phone book for Saul. So my question is, now what? Did they gently caress up? They've been really quiet, and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, but I don't have time to wait for this BS. My kid got his 10 day suspension (the other kid was fine, BTW, just got his pride hurt and probably won't use the N-word again) and we made him write a paper and do a PPT. Do I just keep waiting for a lawyer to be appointed? Or should I just say gently caress it and let him talk? (This seems like a terrible idea to me. Kid had it coming to him and lots of other parents have messaged me and told me so but that doesn't make it right and it doesn't mean my son won't say as much.) Everyone else, sorry for

But question (for purposes of how much pain you can cause to get people to not be assholes) is your kid a racial minority? Also base legal is loving useless. I didn't know we had a GiP legal thread! But yes, we can. My kid is pretty white looking, but actually 1/2 hispanic (Dad is Puerto Rican, Brazilian and Costa Rican. I'm WHITE.) Around here, non-Asian is a minority, but hispanic moreso. Oh: And the kid wasn't being racist at him, but his friends. poopkitty fucked around with this message at 13:48 on Feb 28, 2015 |

Overseas the schools are "run" by the feds and the rules don't apply. I would love a lawyer but literally cannot get one because the only lawyers available to me will not represent us. Sir Lucius posted:When I think of an 8th grader shouting "friend of the family!" it's in the setting of something like call of duty voice chat. Probably doing it just to be a little poo poo, not so much because he hates black people. I'm also reminded of crazy Muslims who shoot up newspapers because they didn't like what some cartoonist is saying. My dilemma is I'm glad the little poo poo got punched in the face, but I definitely don't think you should shoot up newspapers ever. Yeah, I don't think he hates black people, he just seems socially awkward. He doesn't yell it, he just says things like "What's up, mah niggas?" and elbows people, jumps on kid's backs "for fun," etc. My kid is in the "jock" crowd, and most of his friends are bigger. He's 5'10" and about average for the group. This kids just a weird kid, but after you tell someone, "hey, don't talk like that, it isn't cool" so many times . . . Everyone's seen YouTube videos of the big kid losing it; schools still don't get it.
