i got gifted a tv and unlike the one i have i dont have a pc to run it and use a monitor so i need something like an apple tv disadvantages for apple tv: not highly suited to pirates isnt free pros its small are there ANY OTHER OPTIONS what would be nice would be somehting that could browse the network. that would be off the hook i guess i could use an old laptop? gently caress me

uhh idk it has a plex thing so if you install a plex somewhere (which is also probably easy enough for a nontechnical woman or child? i dont remember i did it a while ago and it just twerks)

I bought a Roku 3 off woot.com for $65 plus $10 shipping/handling. I haven't used it yet because I haven't found my hdmi cables.  People say its good though.

i made a linux computer out of one of these, op. then i installed plex on it and plugged in some 4TB external drives. streams fine in 1080p over DLNA to my ps3 and tv. a truly superior experience.
