So if anyone else is like me and bought a G27 specifically for this game but is a huge newbie at setting up wheels try out this guide http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?22122-G25-G27-SETUP-GUIDE I have no idea how everything should feel so I could have it set up perfect and not know it but after doing this guide everything definately feels way more manageable to drive. I for one began to enjoy helmet cam much more after I turned off the visible helmet. Now I get peripheral vision and after a few minutes the looking at the apex feature feels so natural I forget its even happening.

This came up in discussion when we were playing the other night but apparently the Marek and RWD brand LMP cars are fictional and not stand-ins for real cars like we speculated. Unrelated but last night I was doing a 4 lap race at Spa with a couple of goons and I had a drive through penalty. I finally get my rear end in the pits and when it spits me out I have a penalty for cut corners that was inexplicably for 740 seconds. So for 740 seconds I'm limited to like 39mph. The entire race was half that long. *edit* oh my god this loving guy. he's bitching on the official forums because the recommended specs said Nvidia GT600 series and this goober bought a GT630 and is mad his framerates are low. So near as I can tell, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when you set assists to "Real" which ostensibly allows you to use them if they're in the real car, it dosent actually let you turn them on and off because when I hit the buttons I bound for them I can not see any difference before or after but when I go into the options and force them off then everything definately feels different.

Last fall I made the decision that I was going to spend lots of money on a beefy new PC + G27 to play Project CARS, a game I wasnt all that familiar with rather than lots of money on a Xbox One that I'd never use for anything else + Forza + an even more expensive wheel. This was the best decision I've ever made. Sure this game has a few weird quirks and bugs but the actual driving and multiplayer experience with you guys has been everything I dreamed of and more. Truly a worthy sucessor to Forza 4.

Last nights PC races were great. I only had one really frustrating race. Snetterton, a track I'm unfamiliar with, is very challenging with lots of off camber corners and other tricky bits so that didnt help but holy gently caress does the Mclaren 12c have some attrocious default tuning. Also night races, at least in the dry, are just the best* *provided you have headlights

The 12c is the first default tune that i thought was just bad. A couple have been poor but most seem ok if not great (most of the BMWs are good)

[I think mode of control and how well the control settings are set up probably affects how you like a car. For example we drove the Mugen Atom (the one with the least power) last night and i like it but everypne else hated it. But Mostly: Norns posted:Diffrent strokes.

So, PC players, whats the one time & day each week we can get the most people on together? Assuming theres interest I want to organize events like I did in Forza (first order of business is an organized Clio Cup night, cuz that poo poo was crazy close the other night). Personally tuesdays are the only days that are out for me but if we want the euro goons in on this I would think like saturday or sunday afternoons (EST) would be best.

I was going to wait a few weeks for everyone to get acclimated to the game plus hope that they update the game more before we jump in on actual seasons and leagues and stuff. What I had envisioned in the interim was something like: X Car Night: Track 1: 5 minute practice 10 minute qualifying ~15 minute race Track 2: 5 minute practice 10 minute qualifying ~15 minute race Track 3: 5 minute practice 10 minute qualifying ~15 minute race

So I just discovered that entering the pits dosent technically invalidate your lap. I know this because I was doing a time trial on Silverstone and the leaderboard ghost dived into the pit lane at full speed and even though it eventually takes manual control and slows you down its still several seconds faster than going around the last few corners. I'm sure theres other tracks this is a thing on.
