The AI is being overhauled in being less stupid with racing lines and collisions, they're working on simulating their own physics collisions now instead of using PhysX, the new drivetrain simulation has undergone a first test, the live track stuff is about to be integrated with graphics, etc blah blah. Hmm, are they running it the same way they were for the original PCars development cycle, e.g. after the backing time is over, you cannot access the forum/buy the game until release? Would like to hop on the Dev forum, yet appears i missed the window
