i've been having a lot of fun with it the 'look behind you while free running' thing is a really neat innovation and the night vampires being super strong adds some fun challenge

idk so far its kind of like having zombies in mirrors edge which is neat at night everything is better and stronger than you so it becomes a game of dodging attacks and outsmarting the ai which is fun but i totes get not wanting to spend 60 on it

yeah i am enjoying dying light. night time is probably the most fun part of it. dead island is really bad and tried to be wow except with diablo 'left click to swing' mechanics. additionally, the environments were boring and bland and visually unappealing. it was a game sold on a trailer played backwards with no gameplay so lol tl;dr : dead island is boring

yea, the mirror's edge running around feels and works nicely, for the most part the game understands what i am trying to do. the parkour feels about 100 times better than unity, but that is not actually saying much. i've gotten to a point where there is tons of poo poo to do and im enjoying it because if i happen to try to do it at night i get to have cool chases and such. been finding lots of decent weapons, i wonder if the loot lists are tied to your current level or im just in more difficult areas. and you're right the crafting can be ignored pretty much completely. its nice if i just happen to have a medkit's worth of stuff with me but i never freak out and search for part x for item y

i have been meaning to borrow shadows of mordor from my buddy but haven't gotten around to it. i hear that shits its pants in the second half as well, though, when it becomes kind of dull
