The notebook is dumb because you will often have the screen pop up, fill in the quest info, and then mark it as complete, which is stupid.

dumb question: is the gilded sword still a permanent upgrade or can you switch back and forth from the hero's blade to it?

i remember getting the upgrade in mm for the 64 and the game just became way too easy. i think the extra length even made it hit more times than it was supposed to so stuff that was supposed to be hard like the pirate fortress ninjas got loving shredded in a single hit

For the people who are pissed about boss changes, be happy they didn't change the Majora fight at all whatsoever. I suppose it's a shame because it is pretty piss easy even if it looks sick as hell.

It took Best Buy almost 4 days to process the order for the New 3DS and get it shipped out, but the good news is that it was sent out from a town 40 minutes away so it should be here in the next few hours.

new gyorg fight was awesome, as is being able to equip the arrows separately

starting to not really care about a lot of the bad changes because mm is a strong enough game to still be great in spite of them, and the convenience changes are really convenient

From forest temple to the end it's pretty solid but man is the kid stuff a slog on replay.

Also the Water Temple is really good, it makes you think about the overall dungeon layout instead of just solving room-specific puzzles. Pretty much every MM dungeon does this which is another reason why MM is great.

Agreed for Woodfall, Snowhead and Great Bay. Stone Tower is a great and fun temple, but it really feels like a series of rooms because aside from the specific rooms where you flip it to solve a puzzle you are really just running through a gauntlet of rooms until you reach the end boss. There is no interaction between the two sides except for spawning a few chests.

hell, link between worlds had 4x damage mode.... that was a really fun way to play.

there should be a mode in majoras mask where everything deals 100x the damage and dying deletes your save file

i think it should be illegal to make difficulty options an unlockable in video games. i say lock up shigeru miyatendo and throw away the key for not letting me play on hard mode without beating his game on easy mode first... but thats just me

extremebuff
Jun 20, 2010

it's okay when the harder setting genuinely changes the game. like HR/grank in monster hunter, or infinite climax in bayo 2. modes designed around the idea that you have already beaten the game and want to get your rear end kicked more

but when it's just "you take more damage/enemies take more damage" who loving cares give me that poo poo

The exact mechanics of how zora swimming worked was always kind of odd, they change slightly between the Japanese and English releases.

In the original j release you have to dolphin dive up to the platform with the owl at the great bay laboratory cause it's too high out of the water to grab.
