Like, I kinda get being upset over it, but not to the degree folks did.

If he'd issued a " lol, sorry, not sorry" half-aplology and then completely dropped it, it wouldn't have been a big deal. Instead, he doubled down, backtracked, tripled down, then tried to drop it.
