It's particularly funny because it becomes increasingly clear they don't really play video games much anymore and have aged out of enjoying them on the same level they used to and now they have no idea what to write about beyond occasional Destiny comics or comics complaining about kids these days liking games they don't. But they're not actually willing to stop writing their gaming webcomic which is somehow sadder than just realizing they've outgrown a hobby they used to enjoy.

Edit: looks like they printed up shirts and pennants and sold them via the site for a while, then backed down and removed them, then later said they regretted backing down, then later apologised for that.

Yeah, there's a guy in BSS who works in a comic book/collectible cards store and talks about the lovely customers and that VGCats strip sounds almost exactly like one of his stories. If the character had creeped out all the female customers it would have been an even better fit.

Sounds like this was a riff on that.

I went and looked up his Facebook page after Nitrox posted that strip and at one point he was talking about how he was going to use his comics for a class project. I think he might be an actual child.

Also his art looks like a mix between The Oatmeal and Cyanide and Happiness which is an entirely separate type of abomination
