You just get a message about how it's blocked up with boulders and you'll have to find another way in. As far as I can tell that portal is only there so people know there's a dungeon to get in to, and then they work out the whole learning Myconic and talking to 'port shrooms bit. Ah, ok. I've only exited through the portal and just assumed you could enter as well.

I think he's referring to the spider gear belt sold by the strange spider http://projectgorgon.com/wiki/Strange_Spider Also, I would tag along for a crypt run. I'm getting bored of just running it up to the bosses and stopping, since I can't solo them. I'm 30 sword/25 psychology at the moment.
