I use Node for most of my side projects, but would I write a 10k SLOC webapp in it? No.

Like has been touched upon, the callback hell is so very bad. It makes the developer have to reason about code much more and looks ugly as all hell. ES6 and ES7 (promises and async/await) will go far to help alleviate this hangup.
