As much as I'm a fan of the right to keep and bear arms, I no longer think American police officers should be allowed to routinely go armed. I know that this doesn't help in any way but in an alternate dimension were the second amendment didn't exist, the US statistics would probably be much closer to those of other developed nations. Yeah, I asked the copgoons about that the other day, and was saddened at the response. There just isn't will nor budget for the kind of training that a lot of us want people empowered as agents of the government with a license to kill to have.
