I believe they sold Nyland after the Norwegian transfer window had closed, so they couldn't get a replacement - someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I vaguely remember them wanting another goalie but weren't able to get one.

I had a great time at the game! Viking Stadium is quite nice, although the attendance was a bit disappointing. The football is (IMO) MLS quality, although most of the corners/crosses into the box were atrocious. Here's a panorama from inside the stadium:
