There's more to Japanese cinema than Kurosawa.

Masaki Kobayashi is an amazing film maker and his best film is probably Harakiri (Seppuku (1962)). There's really nothing else to say about this film, except to show you guys this old, slightly racist poster.

I don't think there's a better "samurai" film than this one. I'm honestly surprised Quentin Tarantino hasn't tried remaking it at this point. The way the film is constructed and executed, it seems like it would be a nice fit for him.
