Oh man I've seen so many of these! Das Boot is a great, great movie. I've seen Brotherhood of the Wolf in theaters and liked it so much I bought the DVD of it. I remember liking The Host and Run Lola Run. Not the biggest fan of Oldboy tho. The first half of it is absolutely incredible, but I felt that the reveal and resolution is totally Watched Valhalla Rising a couple of days ago. Didn't care for it at all, and Refn's Only God Forgives is one of my favorite movies Haven't seen the original Harakiri, but saw the remake a few months ago and it was fantastic. My contributions are: White Sun of the Desert: The film is one of the most popular Russian films of all time. Its blend of action, comedy, music and drama, as well as memorable quotes, made it wildly successful, and it has since achieved the status of a top cult film in Soviet and Russian culture. The film is watched by cosmonauts before most space launches as a matter of good luck ritual. It's a about a grizzled Red Army soldier in the Central Asian desert being roped into one last engagement to catch a bandit and his gang of outlaws. It's Soviet Union's western, basically, and its available on youtube with subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yia2azQd4GY Aachi & Ssipak It's a hyperviolent Korean anime about a world where the drug of choice is a frozen Popsicle made of poop. Here's the first five minutes of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO_4eaZKdjg Not really sure how I feel about the dub tho.
