i will be buying DKC1, 2 and 3 and replaying all of them. they are some of my favorite games ever, and DKC2 is arguably one of the best games of all time

I played DKC3 through when I was like 10 but haven't touched the series since. How much are they? All the old SNES stuff seems a little overpriced.

it is currently at full price, 8 dollars per title. which is really stupid. especially when it claims there's a deal on the eshop

I paid $10 for all the Metroid Prime games, I think I'll hold off.

yeah

i honestly dont know why nintendo charges a fat loving premium for old rear end games you could emulate when they're selling wii games for an absurd discount

I'll play Tropical Freeze when it's cheaper. Is DKC Returns any good?

its great on the 3ds, on the wii it has lovely waggle controls. and i dont mean "i am a fat piece of poo poo that can't be assed to move" lovely like they actually kind of ruin the game

Oh, like Twilight Princess?

you need to shake to roll, which is something you really need to happen at precise moments and it's not very precise

on the internet "waggle" translates into "waaaaaaaaah i'm a big gay baby who can't handle flicking my wrist once in a while"

they do go a little overboard with it but it's still a fun as hell game in spite of it. also, hard as hell at the end- i lost so many lives in that volcano level with the rising lava

i dont remember many levels from it either. all the minecart levels are great and i remember the huge difficulty spike on the lava world but beyond that it didn't blow my mind

tropical freeze asks you to do some ridiculous poo poo for its final levels but you feel ready for it

dkc2 is the perfect game thats all you really need to know. it has a great difficulty curve with some absurdly hard optional levels as a reward for finding all the bonus secrets in the regular levels

the hidden final boss was a neat touch. they also did the lost world stuff in DKC3 and it was cool but there was a rocket ship level in it that was loving bullshit

i just read that in the gba-make of dkc3 they redesigned the rocket level to be even harder and doesn't have a continue point lmao what the gently caress

i dont remember any secrets that had no hints whatsoever. there was always something if you paid attention, at worst it was an on-rails/race level where you see something's up and miss it and have to replay it to go for the secret

even if you have trouble cranky usually had tips for finding the trickier secrets. i think the one that hosed me up was the skull cart level where you could enter a second bonus stage immediately after the first one
