It's weird to me when I meet people who, like, love and root for Frank Underwood. He's such a scumbag. Sure, Walter White was also a scumbag, but drat it he was a hardworking blue collar underdog scumbag. I just can't find myself wanting this rich weird old-money rear end in a top hat to succeed. Also Claire creeps me the gently caress out. I assume by the title House of Cards poo poo's gonna fall apart for our boy Frank and that's basically the only reason I'm considering diving into season three.

Frank Underwood is a satisfying monster. Well was anyway. Unlike Walter White, he has no, or very little, regard for anyone. Season 3 pushes that to an insane degree. There's several moments where Kevin Spacey really takes times to play a natural human reaction. It's sociopathic. Most of the appeal of Frank Underwood is watching him square off against foes. S3 all episodes stuff Doug is a loving lunatic. To let her go, drive off, and then decide Rachel needs to die? Jesus. Worst season of HoC so far. Every episode was so grim with no one to root for (except maybe Not Putin keeping some scenes light-hearted). Not a great 13 episodes.

I was hoping S3 would be the last for the show as I didn't think the story could go any further without breaking under its own weight. HoC's best moment was Underwood's 4th wall break in S2 E1.
