The gay one I'm a builder I peace out for Gulfport tomorrow morning to begin to forget everything about ships and the best places to have hidden gay sex on them. Or since it's a new Navy, in the open gay sex

Probably, bet I'll be able to snag a sweet new Camaro at 28% APR no problem when I can be let off base. Gonna wear some bitchin' cargo shorts and have that black backpack on all the way shipmate

No need to advance when you die in a training accident though I thought this through

I met Mr Nice! in Hawaii and it ended poorly. On another predictable note, my SGLI beneficiary info is jacked, where do I go in the Navy Net to fix that if I can online? Oh and I heard LingcodKilla talk about how old he was at MEPS when we were sitting in the hallway last year. It was magical because I felt less old.

Akula Raskolnikova posted:Truthfully, being a lab tech isn't the most intellectually stimulating job, but it's better than being a regular corpsman. I get a civilian certification out of it, and its basically an easy button to the Navy. No duty, no watch. Most clinic labs don't have organized PT, and nights and weekend are free for the most part. The biggest downside is that I'm still a corpsman, so lovely advancement. Jesus you're a dork man

A dude I was in boot and now am in A-school with has a wiccan girlfriend or fiancee or something and she doesn't believe in medicine or marriage so they have to have the spirit of a tree bind them in matrimony with sticks or shrubs or something. In the event he gets an infection from said binding he'll probably be better off with Wiccan healing than going to medical though, so I guess that's a plus

MegaJoe89 posted:Knowing what I know about your navy and Italy's navy your good intentions will leave you burned out by about your 4th year of being a officer and either resign in anger or become part of the problem lol. This was always my intention, to be a "model soldier" but all it did was get a hell of a lot on my plate. I'm in a position where I will feel guilty for leaving the armed forces, but know I would be better utilized and appreciated in one of the intelligence agencies. I've come to the conclusion that these things can't be fixed, no matter how much respect and awards you've earned in your career. No you clearly and concisely conveyed your main point, that everything should be nuked from orbit. Namaste.

I'll be 31 when I graduate from business school - I was 31 when I joined the Navy instead of going to business school after having a couple senior level business fellows in my network tell me "You're probably better off enlisting than getting an MBA these days". Life, it's a doozy ain't it? Also how the h*ck do you end up on restriction? The Navy seems to tolerate some pretty massive fuckupery, what do you need to do to get to that point?

Kind of a long drive and I was hoping to sight see besides roadkill on the I10. Only thing I'm going to really stop for is the WW2 museum in New Orleans. You can visit NCBC Gulfport, MS and have Seabees make fun of you, or go for a swim in the Gulf and lose a leg due to toxic infection because the water is literally 25% sewage.

The only people I've heard say Gulfport is alright are already from the South and in turn Very Bad Trash People. Never go here. If you have orders go AWOL and join the Foreign Legion, aka what we all should've done in the first place after we got to the military and went "Holy poo poo why didn't I become a firefighter"

Howard Phillips posted:People from developed countries join out of boredom and seeking adventure, but I have a feeling that most of them are quickly disillusioned. I know there are a couple of elite infantry/paratrooper units and those are probably the closest thing to what we imagine the FFL to be. There's a lot of support and 2nd tier combat units and those are where majority of the people join FFL end up. You're going to be peeling a lot of potatoes and licking boot from ignorant NCOs who have made a career out of the FFL. I can't even imagine how much your basic rights, healthcare, leave, and pay get poo poo on in a system like that. Plus they can always be like "you decided to join this." I have not had the opportunity to peel one potato for the US Navy and frankly feel this is the missing link in knowing I've done right by my nation. Also they probably poo poo on your healthcare, leave and pay in a fashion similar to how our military shits on them. We don't get literally beaten in our military though, something I'm guessing the Legion still allows their NCOs to handle out
