The way the army works they'll send him, he'll get through three weeks, then they'll realize their error and pull him. Halfway through his ETS some colonel will misinterpret his file and court marshal him for abandonment and fraud. It will take him two years and countless hours and thousands of dollars in lost work to clear his name. Five years down the road, just as he's getting ready to accept a contractor job for the government, they'll change his discharge to OTH.

My premob ended Friday but my ticket isn't until ON OR AROUND next Friday and all of my roommates left and the DSs doing premob popped smoke so I've been here alone and will probably be alone until then. Yesterday I didn't leave the room at all and watched the entire LOTR extended trilogy. Today I'm halfway through Return of the Jedi. I did visit the DFAC for lunch. I'm so bored I've started doing 60 pushups/150 jumping jacks every hour. I'm a fatbody so you know I'm that bored. What the Hell is going on?

Oh god I'm in Cuba and everything sucks. On the flipside they're offering to let me extend an additional 9 months (making a year total) if I agree to switch over to PAO. I'm a 68W and I love doing medic stuff on the civ side but army money is good compared to that (in AZ EMTs make less than $10/hour and paramedics make less than $14, lowest in the nation I could find). Also I have no loving clue what I'm doing, because I'm a 68W not MPAD wtf why am I here. But suck it up for a year and have enough dough to go to school afterwards...? But I'm not insane so there's no way I would accept that, right?

Just thrown into quarter deck on a side of this godforsaken island I have never been to, and told that there are three people specifically I have to call attention on deck and salute to, but there are no pictures. Also I'm told I will be hosed up if I gently caress it up. It's not much, but the army just knows how to make every day a little bit worse.

Buy smaller boots. In real life I'm a size 11 at minimum (between 11 and 13, depending on shoe/boot type) but in bellevilles or nikes I'm 9.5EE/XW (extra wide). No poo poo took me two years to figure that poo poo out but now boots are awesome.

Also don't loving pop the blisters. The blister fluid holds poo poo there to protect the underlying layer to allow a new layer of skin to grow. Keep it around as long as possible. Use foot powder. Use moleskin like you see on the package if/when you already have a blister (don't just put it over the top of the loving thing). Sometimes you can wear your dress socks (thin black pieces of poo poo) on your foot directly then put a wool or merino wool (<3 merino wool) sock over the top and it gives you a little area where sliding can happen between the two socks, instead of between the top and second layers of your skin (this is how blisters happen). Keep your foot loving dry, too.

I think I'm just not going to go to drill this weekend. I lose money vs working (I work Thu-Sun 1300-0100) and there is a very real chance I'd be held over until well past whatever we do in the morning. Often I don't get off until 0600 or so.
