Spamtron7000 posted:

If Rod Peters retires today, his closest career comp would probably be Markus Naslund. Not bad.

Windros' stats are somewhat similar to Pat Verbeek. Both over 2900 career PIM, .69 ppg for Ewic vs .75 for Verbeek. Verbeek had more overall points and was a scorer who broke 500g. Windros is hasn't mastered the art of punching the puck in but can pass it well.

Dale Hunter is similar too. He topped 3000 pim, has about twice as many assists as goals, and has a career .72 ppg.

These are good hockey mans.

WHO IS THE TOP GOON OF THIS GENERATION?

Fred Lemur: 14th in career points. He is also 6th for career PP goals (246; Anderchyuk is #1 with 274) Lemur is inside the top 10 for PPG as well. 0 Cups. 4 Lindsay, 3 Art Ross, 2 Hart, 2 Rocket Richard, 2 Selke, 2 Byngs. 16 ASG. Drafted 4th overall.

Felix Orphansbane currently 6th in GP, 3rd in wins, 2nd in sv% (Chavez and Yokozuna are 3 and 4), 11th for SO. A little further down for GAA. 0 Cups. 4 Vezinas, 1 Jennings, 1 Calder. 6 ASG. Drafted 1st overall.

Aaron Athanatos: highest scoring defensemen of the goons. He has the 4th most career points among defensemen. 2 Cups. 10 Norris, 1 Conn Smythe, Art Ross, Hart, Byng, and Lindsay (26-27 he won 5 trophies :catstare:) 1 Solllenberger. 13 ASG. Drafted 2nd; 37th overall.

Other tidbits:
Potatoes owns the PIM record with 4463
Lemur (863; 2nd) or Thinktank (841; 3rd) will pass Gretzky for career goals (894) if they continue to play at their normal levels. They're currently 5th and 6th respectively in GPG.
Gretzky still has more assists than Lemur has points. His stats are even baffling in a loving video game.

Large retirement class this year. Not as many goons as I expected
Everyone is getting old and worse at hockey, though
There are a couple new Cs and As being handed out
The arbitrary raising of salaries to get to the cap floor is getting out of hand. :stonk:
Strelkov may be in the ECHL, or even back in Russia. Who knows? We may not hear from him again.

The Usual Suspects are getting one last ASG in. I wonder if Old Man Potatoes is still going to fight.
Chavez has regressed to 71 OVR, and there are now 3 goalies in WPG. But Chavez has been getting starter minutes.
Strelkov is also 71 OVR. I think he is just sitting at home, since there is a player on an AHL contract (automated by the game) that is getting 3rd string starts
