Sony footed the development bill for this, so yeah, Playstation only.

It's not like a PS3 is terribly expensive in today's day and age if you wanted to play. There's no shame in being a PSpoor.

Sorry, guy.
Really my only concern or curiosity about this game as a long-term player is diversity. I hear tell of armor piercing things and stuff... so I find myself wondering... Is there more than just "Small bug and big bug" and "Small Cyborg and Big Cyborg" that we've already seen? (not referring to the third class... just wondering if it's just those 2 archetypes per species. With the same map layouts and the same 3-4 mission types.

I don't think anyone can totally answer this question yet. But, if Magicka is anything to go by, there will be a lot of stuff added to this game.

On complexity, playing a variety of missions from Difficulty 1 to 6 I can see how the enemy variety and density increases. On top of that you get harder objectives generated and longer lists to objectives per mission as difficulty increases. Difficulty goes up to 12 as far as I can see, I can't imagine how crazy that gets at this point. As you level you seem to get more options for guns, artillery and support but that doesn't equate directly to making things easier as much as team work and skill will. A rank 2 character can jump into a difficulty 6 mission and be on equal playing field as his rank 14 allies.

The repetitive nature will come into you seeing all the pieces used to generate missions and noticing how they are just rearranged procedurally. Longevity comes from how long the challenge presented by the game (which seems to have a high ceiling and low floor) keeps you interested.

My number one tip right now would be try out and use the Stun Grenade perk earned around rank 5. Thrown right it can disable a whole pack for some time or be saved to make the big threatening well defended hulks and tanks immobile for some time. Though, having one guy rodeo-kite the tank around is fun though often a suicide mission.

E: Also, I am psn Rockso78 .

To be fair, the DLC bundle is currently 6.50 on steam, which is 1/4 the price of the non expansion for Destiny and ten times more fun.

Also Magicka rules and if this game is half as fun it'll be worth it all.

At harder difficulties some objectives have an area on the map with a question mark. You have to look in the area for the nests or black box or whatever or you can pop the UAV and it will be on your map.

Don't lose your head over it.
The APC stratagem is a lot of fun, but steering is hard as hell since it is not relative to the screen. Earlier I was with a couple of goons. We would complete the objectives then taxi around collecting any samples we missed. Fully upgraded drone owns for upgrades.

The Encyclopedia pages for the bugs and cyborgs have 8-10 different types. The third enemy should be available tomorrow with probably around the same number. From the loading screen tips and talking to the people on the ship the cyborgs get a literal tank that also transports a big guy, and the third enemy illuminate have mind powers that mess with players' move/aim direction.

It happens sometimes. It's fancy wording for your average "failed to connect" issue that almost all online games have here and there...

The lamer issue is when you drop from a session and the game doesn't recognize you dropped for at least ( I stopped trying ) 10 min. So you drop from your bros and then can't join because it's still 4/4.

Only thing level really effects is how difficult of a planet you can select on your own ship. If you're on someone else's ship you can go to harder planets but it doesn't have any permanent impact on you or anything.

What do you mean by archetype? For cyborgs I've seen regular grunts, berserkers with blades for arms, minigun dudes, minigun dudes with shields, tanks, and a few others so far.
