Cartoons, kids shows, and anime tend to have the best opening sequences (and often with the best music). In general, I love any opening sequences that are dynamic, with cool music and that set the right tone for the show. The Batman Animated one's been mentioned already, but here's a bunch of others I like: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors: Nobody seems to remember this show, but I remembered loving the opening even though I couldn't remember the events of even a single episode. My wife used to watch it as a kid and linked me to the opening one day. When I watched it I could see how the intro could get someone running to the TV to watch it. I grew up with the German version, and rather than some terrible, dated japanese abomination of a song its got a completely lyricless, upbeat sci-fi theme and well-chosen shots of the solar system/wider galaxy to set the right tone.
