Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the beta has OS X support and if so, have an approximation of how well a 2012 MacBook Pro will run it? I recently moved across the country and had to leave my gaming PC behind so I'm scraping by on what my roommate generously gave me.

I so want to play this, and now that I've a secure income stream again I'm even willing to buy into the beta - I'm just a total idiot when it comes to macs and apparently can't get Bootcamp to install on this macbook so I couldn't even play it.  Out of curiosity, what ship would y'all recommend for someone looking to buy into the CBT? I'm kinda leaning towards the Sims, but I dunno really. Through some serious tech voodoo my roommate and I finally managed to get Bootcamp working. Does anyone have any idea if WoWs will run, even on middling to low settings on a 2012 MacBook Pro? If so, I'm buying into this tonight. I, after watching Jingles's latest video, am craving being the annoying CL that escorts BBs and shoots down all the planes forever. I NEED this game. My only concern is that the Integrated Intel 4000 just won't be able to cut it. It does run War Thunder Tanks reasonably well on low, so I have a modicum of hope.

I bit the bullet for  and WoWs DOES run on my MacBook, Intel hd4000 and all. There is a tiny amount of stutter, but it is playable on very low settings. Currently on the Phoenix!  Now to get my gaming rig shipped across the country.

I just had my first match in the SoCa, and it was awful. We won effortlessly but I was so slow the battle ended before I could really even get to the fight. I think I got three whole hits in, because everything else died before I could get into range - <700 on a 1.5x win.

I just had a super intense game in my Langley. It was me and the T4 Japanese carrier on our team versus a langley and bogue on the enemy team. I kept the stock loadout and my teammate was, of course, nothing but TBs. I proceed to shoot down 28 airplanes with my one fighter group thanks to continual dogfighting above friendly ships, get torpedoed and burn down to less than 30 health, successfully flee and score 9 torp hits on a variety of BBs and save us from losing early on. We catch up on points, but the enemy has two caps and is rapidly gaining on us. At the very last second, teammate CV lands torps on the SoCar that was in the cap and sinks it. This puts us in the mid 950s with about 15s left on the clock. The game ends when we were at 996 points and I could have sworn it was going to draw on us, but it gave us the victory and holy balls I'm still shaking that was the most intense match gently caress I didn't have replays turned on. CVs can be crazy fun sometimes.  For the Bogue and later CVs, is it a bad idea focusing on using the fighter loadout to keep your team safe from TBs/DBs or should I be greedy and go for all out damage? to people missing stuff: I think that this might not actually technically be OBT, but some kind of head start for CBT players before the actual OBT goes live in order for them to have some time to work kinks out. I have a rig that can run boats on max in 4k but the interface resolution becomes microscopic. Also, do any of you duders have advice/strategies on how to spend gold / free xp? I don't trust myself with something that I can slippery-slope all of my disposable income away on.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the 1 and 4pt secondary armament skill affects main battery guns, ie the Cleveland? Because loving lol if they do. Or particularly the Atlanta. Stack that with the RoF equipment (if possible)

I want to play American DDs but it's just loving impossible right now. The torps are so short range they're suicide and you're not even guaranteed to hit because they're so slow. The Clemson has decent guns, but the range is so short it causes the same problem. If I were to be ignored, I'd be a loving monster but no, the enemy team is always in groups of 3+ so you get slaughtered before you can do any appreciable damage. I can't ambush either, because every time I try SOMEONE on the enemy team spots me and pubs are too alert. edit: I did have another confederate match after that Phoenix game in my Wyoming - the highlight was blapping a Tenryu with a full broadside of HE. I wish I could have the same amount of luck with my DDs.
