Not allowing blacks to hold the priesthood until 1978, and funding anti-gay marriage laws are two much more simple reasons to deny the visiting LDS missionaries. You don't have to troll poor 19-year-olds about advanced theology.

At LDS church we (teenage girls) were asked to "write our testimonies" in the inside covers of Book of Mormons that were to be handed out to new prospects. It was very awkward and I'm sure no one was convinced.
