Durr how the hell would you play a twin stick shooter on a gamepad.

Anyway I played this game for about 40 minutes. I think you start out too slow and your mobility is super limited, which is fine since it will obviously get better, but some enemies move so much faster and more precisely than you that damage seems unavoidable. The two bosses I've fought have both been pretty lovely too, and there should be a skip dialogue box option so I don't have to read whatever gay indie storytelling crap is going on but the powerups are all pretty unique and it's clearly building towards some interesting stuff so I'm glad I bought it and look forward to starting over and playing it in a few months once I'm done platting bloodborne.

I really enjoy the soundtrack in this.

It's kind of easy except for a boss I just did, but it's still really fun.

Well, that aligns with the vibes I was getting. Which was, like, "normal" kinda vibes.
I've been playing a lot of this. It's a side-scrolling action adventure game with heavy H. R. Geiger influences. The story is, I think, needlessly complex, but the platforming and combat feel very dialed in and precise. The game has an emphasis on collecting an assortment of varied weapons and switching between them for different scenarios. There's also an item you get early on that's mapped to a shoulder button that alters enemies and the surroundings. Some enemies go from shooting harmful lasers to helpful lasers, some turn into platforms you can ride on, that sort of thing. The game also mixes up some of the exploration abilities and the ways you gain access to new areas, and I know that there's more stuff to find. There are some secret areas that look like a poorly-loaded NES game, for reasons the game has yet to explain.

You can also input the "JUSTIN BAILEY" code from Metroid and the main character will run around in his bikini briefs.

just beat it and holy heck there's a lot of secrets I still have to find.

I think every boss is easy if you know a good weapon combo.

also there are 20 different weapons and most of them are useful at least in some situations!!!

good soundtrack too and the pixel graphics weren't half-assed like in a lot of games.

I take back what I said about the game being easy. I got to some kind of hornet boss, and it kicks my teeth in every time I try it. I should probably go back through previous zones and maybe find a different weapon, or more health.

Find the beam that goes through enemies, it absolutely destroys him.

I tried one that does that, Inertia I think it's called. It's very low damage against regular enemies so I gave up on it.

Also when he gets ready to spit out adds shoot out one of your bombs, not only will it change their pattern so that they don't divebomb you, it'll slow down time and give you more time to react.

I like the low health beep because it is in sync with the background music

A lot of the animation cycles are timed to the beat of the music too, it's pretty groovy and more games should do that

most of the sound in the game is too loud and very harsh sounding which kinda blows because the music behind it is good.
