precision posted:I still can't find a trailer that shows any actual scenes from the premiere or season He showed a clip on Fallon that was hilarious. It was just a minute long or so: Louie runs into a an old friend who is a cop who calls the bluff we all play with the "we should get together sometime" thing and basically shakes him down so he can put his number on his phone and commit him to a Knicks game that night. It was classic pure awkward comedy Louie.

The stand-up bit about aliens was funnier than most of his last special. The "I didn't come" line was laugh out loud funny. I'm glad this show is back.

OK, say what you want about the first two episodes but that was one of the best episodes of the entire show. It was perfectly executed. I laughed so hard and felt for Louie at the same time. Seriously: that was loving amazing. His daughters trying not to laugh at him, Pamela laughing right at him, the make-up, the credits sequence with his brother and the way Louie cracks a smile while his brother laughs. We don't deserve television this good.

King Vidiot posted:She's everything that he isn't, confident and bold, and able to detach herself from messy emotional situations with humor in her everyday life. The only time Louie can let go and be that bold, and the only time he can use humor to cope with Serious poo poo is when he's onstage. I think you're spot on here. There's even been a few times in episodes that center on their relationship where you're deliberately shown Louie doing his standup and the camera moves to show you Pamela sitting in the audience and she is smiling and more importantly disarmed from their usual dynamic. It's really cool. I love their relationship because it feels real and complicated as opposed to the normal mindkilling "will they or won't they" that you get in every other lovely show.

If we're talking about Pamela Adlon we also need to remember her role in Californication as Marcy and her best line in the series by far: "gently caress me Rick Springfield! gently caress me Rick Springfield!"
