Glad to see that Ar Nosurge is continuing the silly MMD shenanigans that I saw from Ciel Nosurge. (The lack of lipsynch really bothers me...) Tarezax fucked around with this message at 15:42 on Apr 8, 2015 |

Side note, I've been getting back in the mood to draw lately and what I'm working on right now is tangentially related: I think I must have spent at least ten hours shading and adjusting that face. Tarezax fucked around with this message at 18:40 on Apr 8, 2015 |

I think Nay has warped Cass's idea of what empresses are supposed to look like. Also, our hero is already further along than Croix was with Cloche at this point in the game! Cloche's big tsundere level was all the way down on level 5. TBF though Croix and Cloche started off as complete strangers while Cass and Delta clearly have quite a bit of history together. Nay was wearing overalls in the Ciel Nosurge video I posted earlier. Maybe we'll see a few alternate outfits with pants?????(watch there be like, one, in the entire game)

Having binged through the Ciel Nosurge summary, I can confidently say that Cass has the least tragic past out of all the Ar-series heroines by a pretty long shot. Nay, on the other hand...

Yes, I really like Ion as a character too. You see a lot of development in her through Ciel Nosurge, and I'm enjoying the payoff so far in this game.

Apropos of nothing, if you've read the Ciel Nosurge summary but didn't watch the videos or find the soundtrack, you should totally go track down the Genometrics Concert albums. My personal favorite, one of Nay's songs (sung by Haruka Shimotsuki): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laPcrZVr6oI

If you look closer at that box image, she's got the parka unzipped and yes, she's only wearing underwear underneath it. Stabbey_the_Clown posted:I have no idea what that is . Nelico and Prime seem to take up the role of Mind Guardian that previous games had in their Cosmospheres. I think diving with Nelico is less actually diving into her mindspace and more diving into the remnants of the prison mindspace that Ciel Nosurge took place in. It wasn't destroyed, just buried. Also, moe is good.

I think GUST kinda uses these secondary game series to test out new battle systems and see how well they're received. From what I saw of Escha to Logy, the battle system there was basically the same one that was used in Mana Khemia 2.

The Japanese in Ar-series songs tends to be a) archaic and b) poetic. Poetic Japanese tends to bend the rules of grammar to fit meter and such, and with the added archaicisms (also common in poetic Japanese), it's no surprise you have trouble understanding it. This is a common thread with all East Asian poetry, Chinese especially. Classical Chinese poetry treats grammar as a suggestion instead of a rule, making it extremely difficult to understand. The Ar-series games seem to be an experimental test bed for GUST. Every one of them has different gameplay systems, whereas their mainline Atelier games are more iterative. Trouble is, the experimental stuff is very hit-or-miss.

I have an "undub" version of AT2 on my computer, which is quite nice because NISA cut out a bunch of JP audio in the localization. Miyuki Sawashiro and Ami Koshimizu are both so great in the lead roles.
