I do alot more 3D work than I draw these days, so I say it's all cool to post that stuff here. (that's looking pretty good by the way) Diabetes Forecast fucked around with this message at 16:17 on Oct 31, 2015 |

Also, they don't really look like they're UNDER the mushrooms. I'm not sure if that's the intention or not, but her wings in particular pass in front of the top of the mushroom, making it clear that she's not under it. Contrast and tone issues also make this problem more exasperated. (If she's not meant to be under it then nevermind.)

Monolith. posted:I think your robots look pretty good. Honestly I don't get to post much of my work here anymore due to the nature of it or simply the fact that it's for other people that don't want it seen at the moment. It's very frustrating because I've made a lot of progress in a short span of time. Here though, I can atleast post this sketch. Gonna be a fancy painting with a spaceship in the background.

They never asked it, but they certainly never answered it either. This is why my answer is Magic. Don't think about it too hard, it's just pretty pictures.

I was right, the ship IS a bitch. i forgot that I no longer poo poo details all over things like when I was younger, so trying and regain my inner child and poo poo lines and bolts on things. The colors and values will def need adjusting by the end. To add to the discussion, I've never really had formal training except when i was 7-10 years old, and very recently under all-around cool guy Gerald Byrd. Even then it's more of him showing me a few things here and there while i slap my way through acrylics. Diabetes Forecast fucked around with this message at 05:52 on Jul 23, 2016 |

If memory serves right disney hired some dude that drew vore art at some point. I'd be suprised if anyone in the animation industry isn't aware of the fact that their talent is a highly eccentric bunch.

I finished this off yesterday and got like 10 sales already so it's going good so far. Also for reference point that body I'm working on is for something a bit more normal anyway. Just a karate girl more or less. (only the bottom part was drawn by me, I commissioned a really cool guy to help set the tone for her.) y'know I'm curious about that too. I rarely ever stream unless I can do a multistream, cuz I have like maybe 3 super dedicated folks that watch and that's about it.

Twitch is kinda poopy for doing art stuff. just about everyone is using Pixcarto these days. it's explicitly for artists and has multistream functionality/customization if you feel like dropping ten bucks a month to be the host. free users can be invited into multistreams though, so you don't HAVE to put any money in if you don't want to.

I'm redoing the whole thing today with a different angle and focus. Even though it's not done yet, I'm enjoying this version MUCH better. Maybe later I'll revisit the cave focus for another piece. I guess I'm creating some sort of theme with these scribbly pieces though. What a fun little fantasy setting.

Hate to double post but I finished this thing. I guess maybe I should actually push this style and try to do it more often than once a year. ...It's too easy though. I feel like i'm not challenged at all when I do this. This took maybe 4-5 hours tops.

I was trying to make sure that the fish was actually seen properly. it's a place in permanent night with only a moon so the moon is kinda the acting light source. It's the same place as this piece: (I don't know why people like this piece so much I even sold the drat thing in a big frame) I do like the contrast change but it's a bit TOO bold for the scene. Only thing i DON'T like about the edit is that the knight's scarf is totally obscured and it's like my favorite little thing about him. I guess i could maybe pull it outfrom his body, but there's not really an intention of wind here. I'll see what I can do though. I think maybe I can try and light the fish a bit more using the lamp's light source. it wouldn't be super hard. Diabetes Forecast fucked around with this message at 18:52 on Sep 19, 2016 |

well gosh guys, thanks! I think this might be the final version of it? i dunno, it seems like I got it about right now. E: Jesus christ, I had never thought about this: This poo poo's very clearly inspired by all the Stephen Gammell illustrations I saw as a kid. It took talking with my girlfriend a moment ago to realize that! Diabetes Forecast fucked around with this message at 21:46 on Sep 19, 2016 |

I think the issue is there's not a whole lot of flow control going on, IE the strands are ultra thick looking where they could stand to be thinner/less opaque/both in areas. E: some of the highlight lines suffer the same issue too. JuniperCake posted:Yeah the contrast is much better than before, and it's good that you got some more lighting from the lamp in there. I'll proooobably do another touch-up, but at the moment I've really gotta keep at my portfolio stuff. You bring up a good point that I could probably just mess with the darker side to get the same basic effect. Diabetes Forecast fucked around with this message at 19:14 on Sep 20, 2016 |

Got the feets done. they got a really good range of motion, which let's face it any martial artist worth their salt needs their feet to be flexible. Toe has a angle range of about 53 degrees up (not sure down, i didn't test that.) foot secondary joint has about 25 degrees up and 66 down. overall a big success

Elsa posted:you would probably be interested in a Perfect Grade Gundam of mine. It uses a double hinge knee and foot system that isn't so obviously a simple hinge joint. I have a couple mechas coming up as soon as I get the chance. I'll make some studies of the joints in the meantime and post those sooner than later. part of me just enjoys the toy-etic visible joint deal. I've got a bunch of robot kits I've put together myself, so I get how the joints work for the most part. usually they have a double joint for most sections, so I often times just make my stuff with that in mind. (usually there's a kneepad of some sort, but not the case here.) As for rigging, no, not yet. I was just testing joints via position offsets to see if they'd work at all. I did that quite a bit while modelling the individual sections, tweaking placement and spacing on the toe and mid-foot plates. The rig will come much later, once the low poly has been completed and baked out. Something i never really mentioned, but I've hit a sort of penchant where I often design things with modelling or redrawing them as the intent, so this mesh is designed to be a quick turn-around after the high poly is completed. the lowest part of the mesh, underneath the plates on the torso, is also made to be reused for other models. in fact: This was a super early draft of a body base I can use for stuff later. That's how far ahead I planned for this project, since it requires such a large time investment. Also for troposphere: I know you're afraid of boobs, so I think you'll be happy to know there's even a customization option for you. I use Paint Tool SAI. I have a large set of brush tools for it that I use though. I'll eventually have to swap to Clip Studio unless SAI 2 gets finished soon. (Someone gave me a brush for Clip Studio that mimmicks SAI's marker tool so i have no excuse for not using it at this point)

I have very strong feelings about how much I hate that game. It's like lowest common denominator trash pandering design with a rather ugly and simple model. The game itself looks so poorly put together on top of it all too. It's like they wanted to make Dead Space but didn't have any sort of good vision so they covered it up with 'thicc'.
