I'll totally vote for him in the elections, it just won't do any good - even in the one in a billion universe he wins and everything else is the same, he'd be able to do even less than usual since both Republicans and Democrats owned by the wealthy would be pulling against anything he wanted that didn't fall in line. But it will definitely feel better than voting for Hillary so thanks for encouraging me.

The only problem with a Bernie Sanders candidacy is that when Hillary beats him, all of her horrible blue dog supporters will point to Sanders and say "see you liberals had your shot and lost fair and square, now you have to fall in line and vote for Mrs. Goldman Sachs" Part of me would prefer to have the weird-rear end no-challenger primary that Hillary was gunning for because the optics would more closely resemble what is actually happening in this party. I guess that there's still the very real chance that Bernie will be ignored by the media and shutout of debates and events.

The funny part about the 47% video is I remember fighting about it on Daily Kos weeks or months before it hit the mainstream media, a lot of people thought it was fake and that liberals should ignore it. I don’t think that the Obama campaign had much to do with it, or that Romney would have won without the video being released. Romney was just a phony, unlikeable rear end in a top hat that made a fortune by hurting people and most Americans could see that.

serious post i'll vote for this dude and maybe even help in his campaign but at the same time my confidence in the legitimacy of american democracy is basically zero. idk whether to blame poo poo like citizen's united and other failures to reform our campaign system or whether it has to do with things like the dissolution of organized labor(which i believe is connected with how democratic a country is) but either way it doesn't seem like anyone's too concerned about it at the highest level
