There was actually a fun game in there somewhere beneath the bugs, mismanagement and dumb pricing structure, at least.

I beta tested both Hellgate London and Wildstar and knew they were both garbage because of that. The real shame was that other game the hellgate devs were making to test stuff, Mythos, was actually fun.

Isn't B&S the game where the character designer is a famous hentai artist?

Glamour's are entirely player driven, which ties into them wanting to give crafters more ways to make money. (particularly in the lower/mid range). Which honestly most of the time a crafter makes money in FFXIV is by making extremely expensive gear that although functional is mostly used to look prettier.

I think the best example of a weird decision that makes sense in context is the relic weapon grind. On a game that isn't really that grindy you have a massive chain of quests with tons of grind. Most people going through the chain hate it. But a single :spergin: going through the chain helps dozens, maybe hundreds of newbies going through content for the first time, directly influencing their quality of life. Its that sort of design thats made FFXIV pretty popular.

On the other side you have games that just fail to retain new blood because their early leveling experience is a wasteland. (Like wildstar)

The relic grind made me quit the game because it was the only way of getting good equipment besides being on the bleeding edge of raiding

There's also the fact that Wildstar was never hardcore, it was just tedious. This is a common mistake made by idiots and bad game designers.

You see this a lot, people think having a lot of time to waste = hardcore.

Wildstar needs to fail so devs realize no one that matters wants a hardcore mmo.

Ugh, I tried to buy a lifetime sub so I can start grinding rep for space cupcake recipes but it's moving to F2P. I guess I'll just have to buy as many house plants and hats for my dude as possible.

Saxophone, you strike me as a goon of good humors. Would you care for to escort me on my WILDSTARS ESCASPACECAPADES?

Instead of spending money on wildstar just send it to me so I can buy a Wii U

Guys a WS dev just contacted me, Carbine is aware of server queues and is starting a new server for Goons. He promises it won't be empty 3 weeks after F2P launch.

Wasn't Wildstar the MMO where the devs convinced the head of the goon guild to form the guild on a specific server and then that one turned out to be dead as poo poo even at launch?
