Weihenstephaner is amazing, but for some reason it's only good when it's on tap. I had some at Wurstkuche (German sausage place in LA, highly recommended) and it was loving amazing. But when I buy it in the bottles, it's not the same.

Weihenstephaner kristall, even bottled, is really loving good though and I recommend it.

Just a heads-up for any and all interested parties: kristall is filtered wheat beer, which means a lot of what makes that type of beer what it is, is removed to make it clear and less scary looking. Wheat beer is naturally opaque, and bottled wheat beer often has sedimented yeast at the bottom of the bottle, which you can swirl back into the beer while pouring for extra goodness. You're right in that it's a kind of beer that doesn't take well to bottling.

It's fine if you like kristall, but it is a perversion of wheat beer.
