girth brooks part 2 posted:It's okay. I do enjoy the base mechanics and combat, but I hate hate hate the writing and the missions are kind of lame. It's hard to recommend, but there is a fun game in there, as long you can look past it's flaws. The devs have been doing alot of work to make the game mod friendly (cars/weapons/scenarios) along with fixing the more bullshit scenarios so the game has been getting alot better since release. I liked it, its a great game to kill time on a POS work computer but if you have any doubts def wait for a sale.

So gametrailers put up a "Just Played" video of a dude that played Mad Max during E3 Judges Week. Starts off off saying the game is not as good as the movie (really what is?) but still fun. Some random notes from the video: -The little goblin dude on the back of your car is called Scumbucket - He is your mechanic and will repair your car if the player is ideal in the desert/goes on mission - Yells at you what parts of the car take damage from combat/off roading. - Sniper rifle that is only in the car if you park the car - Scumbucket controls the harpoon and can target various parts of cars Sounds really fun so far. Still really considering giving it the $35 pre-order chance off of GMG. Last game I took the cheap pre-order risk for was Dying Light and that sucker turned out to be amazing.

Inzombiac posted:Since this is coming out sooner than I had anticipated, I've decided not to watch any videos. Avalanche is a drat good dev team and this plus JC3 will max me out of sandbox insanity. Too bad, cause latest interactive Mad Max Interactive Trailer really make the games look fun. The car combat looks a bit easy (I'm hoping they are just trying to show off the player the ultimate badass) but the action during the Sand/Electric storm looks almost right out of the movie.

Skip to the 20 min mark on the gamespot version to see the car customization options and then have them drive through a electrical storm. A nice tidbit the dev dropped is that the outskits/storm area is 100% randomly generated that will keep going until the player turns back or runs out of fuel and dies. I wonder if SweetFx will be able to make the game look more like the movie?

Ofaloaf posted:Oh, good call. That's the best way to avoid sperging out about chronologies. This would be the WORST series to sperg out about chronologies. The first movie happened......and then it a mess if the others are just "This badass dude showed and saved our society while not meaning too" as a story told through the generations or if they are connected, flow, etc. Its cool the game is kind of following that trend as well. I think the only connection to the movies is that the main bad guy is one of Immortal Joe sons.

I normally wouldn't care and just pay the Steam price but, despite looking amazing, I'm hesitant to shell out $60 for what could be a buggy port. Yeah, I've used them multiple times. They send you a key like a day or so before the game goes live and you just add it to Steam. Bewared through, if you are really worried about the game you won't be able to get a steam refund by using GMG.

I think its a double whammy of loving up the Batman game AND coming out at the same time as Metal Gear. If they sell enough pre-purchase and full trust the quality of the game then offering it at 50% off can work out since enough people will take a risk, having a good time, and word of mouth/positive reviews/streams can produce a slow burn of sales. God knows gamers can't control there wallets when a hot new thing comes out that every one is raving about.

Deep Friah is allowed because he make the followers of the flame more docile and willing to work at Gastown without speaking/acting up. Getting killed/maimed/burned from fire is now a religious experience instead of something to avoid and start a uprising over.
