'Backstrom' started as just the brand of derivative dogshit you'd expect (Rainn WIlson is: a dumber House who solves ~~diseases~~ CRIMES) but it actually found its footing shockingly quickly and the ensemble cast had dynamite chemistry going within 5 episodes. And despite being a procedural it took some quirky risks and approaches to story beats that I was impressed with. I'm disappointed it got canned though not surprised in the least.
