Lets go with Lper's choice, the CalmSeas guild (we are intending to end the raging waves, after all), and as for the character:

Tyler, Hoplite, Portrait 3, alternate
A mercenary that has come to Armoroad to seek the riches deep in the labyrinth. He trained himself as a hoplite, knowing that every adventuring party would be crazy to not have one, so he would quickly find work. His bright golden armor and smug smile hides his considerable skills behind a mask of a newbie, as he believes that a new party would be uneasy to have a veteran such as him working with them.

The only weakness that he is willing to admit is that he gets seasick, but it's not like he will be sailing around on the ocean, right?

So yes, this guy is as smug as hell.
