I'm pretty much always the captain for my squad and it makes no difference. Maybe they fixed the input lag? Because the gameplay is still laggy as poo poo like 40% of the time.

All I really know is they set out to fix specifically the Captain lag, it took them six months to get it done, then they wrote on their forums that they managed to do it because of some very senior engineers. Judging from the forums posts at that time they really did get it done, but I try to keep away from ea forums as much as possible and haven't played the game in a while.

21 games into my be a pro, and I've about got the sliders dialed in to where I can reach my expectations consistently while still being in competitive, fun games. Thoughts so far. Offensive expectations are silly. Your expectations essentially require a minimum of 3 points every game. Team play and defense are a lot more reasonable, so I'm not sure why offense is weighted so much more. 2 points should have you pushing an A+ imo. I've gone from 57 overall to 60 in those 21 games as a 16 year old, playing every game. Not sure if I'm going to be able to be pushing 90 overall by the time I'm ready to go in the draft like I could in NHL 14. Progress feels really slow. Hopefully I can at least get into the 80's so I can be competitive in the NHL right away. For fun, I customized my WHL teams roster a bit before starting the season. I changed the potential of a 16 year old RW to elite, a 16 year old defenseman to franchise, and a 16 year old goalie to franchise. Between those guys and me at center, I figured in a year or two we'd be an absurdly good team with a lot of guys who would go on to be great players in the NHL who's careers I could follow alongside mine. But in 21 games not one of them has gone up an overall point. Hopefully they'll "age" over the offseason or something, because I'd hate to have them not progress at all over the next 2-3 years. Other than that, it's a lot of fun. I plan on playing every game of my major junior career because I want my overall to be as high as possible by the time I make it to the NHL, and I want to make sure I go high in the draft. After that, I'll probably go to playing 1 out of every 3 or 5 games in the NHL, depending on whether my overall is high enough to get me solid stats in simulated games. But it seems like once you've got everything tuned right, the game mode is really good. Really nice since the barebones bullshit they had in the next gen games last year was loving garbage compared to 14.

I've been playing this again because it turns out Street Fighter is hard and I just rather shoot a puck and hit a man than worry about frames traps and dropped combos. Coming from that perspective though shows how bad nhl is in competitive sense. Sloppy mechanics, it's like level of game play is missing so you can't do poo poo in any of the fringe cases in the game. If the puck is laying in front of the goalie there is nothing you can do even though it's loose puck in your reach as most obvious example of that. AI that acts like a random number generator for the game. Sometimes the weak side man covers his man sometimes not. Only way to play against better players is to camp in front of the net taking away shooting lines and one timers because the AI won't bother so when you are on offense you end up "micro skating" in the offensive zone twitching around like no hockey player has ever done. So it isn't that far from Street Figter after all.

What the hell kind of statistical system does this game use? I'm four games into Be A GM and Bob should be 3-0-1 with GA of 3, 2, 2, and 1 in the four games, yet the game has his numbers as 2-0-0 with a 2.44GAA and like .886SV%. It's like two games never happened.

Time not on the ice doesn't count for GAA. So if the goalie is pulled for the final minute of a game and allows 2 goals, his GAA is actually 2.03 and not 2.00. I'm guessing Bob was pulled here and there.

I get that but, beyond one or two delayed penalties (and maybe a few seconds in the second game against the Rangers when I was trying to tie it and did), he was on the ice for all four games: NYR 5 CBJ 4 (OTL; I misremembered my own history in the last post) CBJ 3 NYR 2 (SO) CBJ 3 BUF 2 CBJ 4 OTT 1 The game apparently thinks he only played two; it shows 2-0-0 2.44GAA when it really should be 3-0-1 2.50. I know McBackup hasn't played because I'm using him in the first of a back-to-back with TOR and CHI coming up. I don't know if it's a glitch in the game or what. You're going about this all wrong. EA gives the fans what they want. WWI Battlefield got such a postive reception it's time for NHL1, 1920's era hockey. No helmets, barely any pads, the fans all smoke cigars, and everyone is a 25 overall in every stat.
