So if we're playing as a suicide squad does that mean permadeath is back or is that still absent? Not that it would really matter for the LP I guess.

Yeah, maybe "corrupt" was the wrong word. "Laughably incompetent" works better. But then I'm the guy trying to apply logic to what is basically a playable anime, so I'm not the best arbiter of intelligence. :v:

Horrible incompetence is a timeless military tradition. The winner of every war is the army that fucks up the least.

I really like Kurt so far. Its rare to have a protagonist that is both confident and competent without being extremely smug at the same time. The game suggests he's a tactical genius and successful leader, and I can actually buy that. As opposed to Avan who should of gotten everyone killed in less than a month. Did they get a completely different set of writers for this game or something?

It reminds me of the Warhams (and honestly a lot of science fiction and fantasy) wherein you are constantly told a character is an amazing officer and strategist, and their strategy boils down to 'I wanted to win really bad, so I won. I don't really suggest losing, that's a bad move.

I think there is a series of Warhammer 40K books about a guy who is hailed as a hero of the Imperium just for displaying basic competence and also being really lucky.

You know I don't think I've played a game where I got to control a badass grandma. That's pretty novel.

Did Miriel from Fire Emblem Awakening join the Nameless?

I hope she got put into the penal squad for performing questionable "science" :pseudo:

Prepare to be disappointed. There's like 1 actual murderer, but a couple of them willingly joined the squad because apparently the pay is pretty good.

The gently caress? Why would a penal squad have pay, and furthermore why would it be GOOD? :psyduck:

After the battle, most of the squad stopped being afraid of me. I was born looking this way, so I've never been treated fairly until now.

Born looking like what? Having dumb hair? Cause having weird hair in the land of anime doesn't seem like much of an issue.

We're in the land that executes daily genocides because of hair color. white/red is a freaky thing to people, probably.

Well yeah but that's because of a stupid myth about them destroying the world once upon a time. Regardless, if it bothered her that much you'd think she would just get a haircut. Hair color is just such a weird thing to make the basis of discrimination.

Is it legal to hate Imca as much as I do?

I don't care. *runs away*

Really I dislike her as well, but at least Kurt's reaction to her is pretty drat good. He realizes exactly how to cut through her bullshit rather than fumbling around like so many other protagonists would do. Kurt really is such a huge breath of fresh air.

I dunno, to me almost everything sounds way more awkward now. It seems like a very clumsy translation. I think the original updates were written better in almost every area that I've looked at.
