In case you haven't kept an eye on any of this, Guitar Center is walking a path that smells a lot like Circuit City's final days. The number being thrown around is that sales commissions have been cut by 75%. I can tell you that the one in my town has been getting sadder by the month and it won't be a surprise when it goes. Might get a good opportunity to nab something on the cheap when they liquidate.

I've heard from several of my distributors that they are pretty much done. The amount of sales calls I get now is insane, with vendors that see the writing in the wall and jumping ship.

My Biggest problem with Guitar Center is that they drove mom and pops out of business that had viable strategies. Guitar Center blew everyone up because they had a poo poo load of cash behind them but no way to actually turn a profit.
