ok so there are like 5 or so different magic stones in the game and to get a magic crystal thing you need to breed a specific type of magic horse to get that specific magic crystal. You need to have a level 5 horse to send it out on a quest to retrieve the crystal. The way you get the level 5 horse is as follows.

1. Buy two level 2 horses, breed them together, get 1 level 3 horse.
2. Buy two more level 2 horses, breed them together, get another level 3 horse.
3. Breed those level 3 horses together and get a level 4 horse. Ditch the level 3 horses since once a horse breeds it can't breed again.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to get another level 4 horse.
5. Breed those level 4 horses together to get a level 5 horse.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 4 more times.

I platinum'd Nier in two weeks.

This sounds like a hassle.

The first episode of Fate/Zero is indeed terrible. It basically exists to shoehorn in as much worldbuilding and setup as possible so they don't have to deal with it later. I understand why they did it, but if you're already a fan of the Nasuverse you kinda don't need it and if you know nothing about Nasu at all then it's like why are all these people talking about stuff I don't care about, when will something happen?

A buddy of mine likes to introduce people to the show by way of the Kiritsugu flashback episodes, which I've become convinced is probably the best way to do it. You may still not like it, but at least it'll give you a more accurate taste of the show then two dudes walking around in a circle lecturing at each other.
