Threads with this type of game have popped up from time to time in GBS but due to being in GBS, they tend to fall by the wayside pretty quickly (the last version of it was last bumped over 6 months ago) and I was hoping that if the thread was done here in CD, people would be more likely to play along as well as hopefully a wider variety of films being posted. I know an outright game isn't 100% suited to CD but hopefully this will fit in as well as inspire a few people to consider what films they've seen and perhaps seek out a film based upon a screenshot posted here. How To Play: Very straightforward, somebody posts a selection of screenshots from films and other posters guess as to what the films are, when the correct guess is made, the Screenshot poster will confirm the correct guess and also edit their post containing the screenshot to include the correct title and the correct guesser's identity. Tips/Guidelines: -Always use screenshots you've taken yourself, a really handy way is just to stick in your DVD (for example), open it in VLC player, right click & 'Video > Take Snapshot'. -Don't use screenshots taken from google as it'll be too easy for people to cheat (or rather people could get bored and quickly want an answer as soon as they see the screenshot) -Make sure to edit your original post to include the correct answer so people don't end up continually guessing for films that've already been spotted. -Don't be too obvious with your screenshots, and try not to be too obscure either, don't post a title card but then a close up of a wall mid camera move is likely to be impossible to place, but the main aim is to have fun so feel free to find tricky screenshots but don't screw over anyone guessing. -It also should go without saying, but don't post anything too much like a spoiler from a film (I know a single likely vague screenshot can't really spoil much but try to be careful) -it's best to use spoiler tags when inserting the correct film's title into your original post so that later viewers to the thread can guess for themselves when they first see the screenshot. -Be careful with filenames when you're posting, this shouldn't be an issue as most imagehosting sites randomise the filename but just be careful all the same. -Un-resized screenshots from a DVD or BluRay will obviously be huge so be sure to be careful when posting and don't forget timg can be your friend. there will likely be plenty of screenshots repeated on a page and there's no need for anything too large in the original post. -Try to have a few screenshots of different films to post rather than one at a time so people can have more options for guessing. -If a particular screenshot is getting no right answers, please post another from the same film to help out guessers. -When guessing, it's best to quote to screenshot you're referring to rather than a number (if the screenshot poster has provided numbers). -Feel free to post your own screenshots, the more the merrier but don't forget to update your original post or else things could get very confusing.
