If you must use Adobe Reader (Canadian government  ), you should disable the auto-approval of Javascript, as well as the trust of external links, assuming your PDF sources aren't broken enough to require those things. But there are a ton of "not Adobe" options and they're all pretty solid by virtue of not being Adobe.
