I am playing a low moral good hero since I rolled the low moral talent. So far I am impressived that most of the bad guy choice are presented with resonable arguement and you are merely accepting their extreme method to do justice, Batman style + optional killing(?). The flower pot choice owns.

It does instant solve some quests and i gain lots of money and item from it, which is great.

Alright, I'm still butting my head against the Hangzhou murder mystery quest. I've found the first six clues but I have no idea where to go for the next one.

For reference I got the clue from the coroner, the three clues from the prison, the clue from the beggar girl and the clue from the security escort guy. Does anyone know where I need to go next?

Can you tell me where to go after Cheng Du? I am super lost.

I went to talk to beggar sect, because trusting Xiao took me to sim, and so did staying out of it?

I don't know if you are on the same path that I did. If you are on the Duke Cheng -> Find Treasure Map storyline, then the place you have to go first is the Sea Shark Clan, the place on the river. If you are on the second piece of the spoiled storyline, then you have to go to the Western Village in the desert

If you haven't gotten to either that part yet, try going to the temple (separate map accesible from the city map) in Huangzhou, which is the city on the eastern shore

Beat it. Great Minister, Great Swordsmith, God of Cookery, God of Wine, two wives. Shame the endings are so railroady, no idea how to join on the other side of that event? Of the three options that start it, help Xiao, and stay out of it seem to do the same thing.

I let him go, and didn't take the bounty. Still doesn't seem to be anyway to side with them? When I select Help Xiao, the mc is like, I'd just be in the way!

Hold down mouse when the fish is tired. The moment it starts moving against you stop holding down the mouse and wait for the fish to get slow/stop, then hold down the mouse again

Let the fish swim till the line goes slack - the fish stops and the line visibly sags. When it does that, reel it in.

Yeah, you can tell when the fish is tired because the line goes slack which is an indicator that you can start reeling it in. When reeling you can also let go of the mouse before the fish starts resisting again to get it to start pulling on the line to avoid having a moment where you're reeling in and it's pulling which can cause the line to snap.

I could tell the Beggar's, and be against him. Or I could trust him to handle it, and move on to the other end event? Or I could...stay out of it? I don't know what that one would do

I was friends with Xiaoyao way before it but I was also friends with Yu Yan. I got an event from the Luoyang constable to catch a dude, and when I found him I let him go. I got another event later with the same dude and Xiaoyao and I told him I would help him no matter what, and I did and it set into motion an event with Xiao and the spoilered person before. I fought the Beggar's Sect and the good guy Buddhist monks and eventually partnered with the bad guy monk from an earlier event that took the 42 Sutras as well as the City of Heaven Assassins for the final fight. The end came pretty abruptly after that fight, though.

Bad new: It took 400-500 turns to max one kung fu. Half of it is rest-healing though. I recommend grinding on this battle.

Depends on martial knowledge I think, I went about 100-200 for most, but I had the Encyclopedia of Wulin

Yes, it requires very specific circumstances though. An enemy who regens at a rate acceptable to not take a year. You can spend up to an hour or more just maxing a single one. Less if you just go for all the skills.

Heads up: There's a softlock event if you stroll in the teahouse around the middle of year 2. It's the Buddhist monk Xu Zhen trying to remember a sword guy's name (not Gu Shi) and the game will just softlock halfway through. Be sure to save first if you stroll there just in case to avoid losing progress.

Thanks for the advice and tips for my last question, thread. Doing much better this time around.

Different question tho, does anyone know which skills the traits Sentimental and Skilled Craftsman effect? Craftsman obviously effects blacksmith, but seems like a kinda wasted trait if that's it. Same with Sentimental, it says it works with art... Is that just painting, or does that include like music and go and such too?

You get new strategies, boost party defense, guarantee double attacks, random buff for anyone wielding a staff. They're incredibly great.

Skilled Craftsman pretty much effects every "skill". That's blacksmithing, fishing, hunting, harvesting. All of that stuff. I believe sentimental effects the Art skills; Teamaking, flower arranging and all of that. There's actually a view (I think in simulation mode) which shows which skills are "skills" and which skills are "arts". Also from what others have said, skills usually cap at 100 but with a skilled craftsman guy, my max is 120, which is glorious when it comes to hunting by the way.

Edit: just booted the game up again. If you press the scroll next to the main menu button in simulation mode, it brings up a list of every skill and groups them under basic, moves, skills and arts. Everything under skills is affected by skilled craftsman. Everything under arts is affected by sentimental.

Ohhh... In retrospect, that makes perfect sense. Never noticed the groupings before really, so now I feel kinda dumb. Thanks a bunch!

Was thinking of restarting my character with a different trait after my latest start with weapon master, too many of the unarmed styles look cool, heh. Just wasn't sure which trait to aim for instead. Still not convinced Prodigy is actually a good thing after my last attempt with it.

If you hold down the plus icon with your mouse, it will tick up on it's own eventually going really fast. It takes a bit for it to really get going and if you're buying loads of things (like 9000 arrows...) it will take a minute to get to top speed but all you need is to do is click and hold down.

Is there any new game plus mode or any benefit to starting on the hardest difficulty? I've held my own on the first few fight but past the second city it's a bit annoying how easily rekt my guy is getting. If there's a new game plus I'll start again on rookie and work my way back up.

Also, has anyone tried any of the three move sets you can get in Dukong from the beggar guy? I always took the comprehension boost but if those skill set's are better I want to give them a try.

The one for Swords is pretty good (Nine-fold Dugu) -- it has good damage and the third move is a three-hex arc that gives you an invincibility buff. The only cool looking attack is the second one, which was a bummer. It also requires 150 martial knowledge to unlock, which took me until the back half of Year 2 even winning the (year 2) fight at the Shaolin Temple and every optional fight I could find before that. On the upside, you turn into a wrecking ball because your basic stats are crazy from the non-stop training.

I lean more towards the Sword style you get from sparring with your master (Four Guardian). The base attack isn't exceptional, but it has a cleanse and an AoE that are great. You also have a lot more flexibility in terms of your build/when you can start using it. I haven't found any other Sword styles. I have the one from the beggar, one from the master, and the base one. I'm at the plot event in Year 2 October, so hopefully I can get one or two more before the end-game phase.

You gain those flame looking thing on the top of the creation screen when you beat the game above monkey difficulty. Maybe harder difficulty unlocks more? These things can be used to raise the random roll cap, lock a number, or lock a talent.

I tried the Buddha Palm, which require 3000 hp. Not that bad if you are choking in tiger dicks a master hunter. The main stat is moral and damage is about above average I guess, but It's a great supportive technique that let you push people one block, aoe blast people, and one turn invulnerability for you and your surrounding friend (cool down is 4 I think).
