I re-watched the pilot, as I'm sure many of you have. It's definitely worthy of a second look after the Mr Robot reveal. At roughly 37 minutes - in the subway scene with Elliot, Mr Robot says, "[His own father] was in prison. Just like you are now, Elliot."

If White Rose is looking out for Elliot while he's in prison, it's possible that the Dark Army is watching over Darlene. They might have intercepted information from the FBI, instructing Cisco to keep her safe. The webcam footage would be his proof that he's compliant. If anything happened to his sister he'd definitely lose his mind completely. They'd have no use for him then.

Angela's birthday is one day before Elliot's father dies. In the first episode, Elliot is invited to her birthday drinks, but lurks around outside instead of going in. He gets on the subway and meets Mr Robot for the first time, on the anniversary of his dad's death.

Like, she's probably not wunderkind supernerd Elliot level, but she worked at a computer security company for a long while. Even if she became management quickly there's still some technical knowhow to do that job. The instructions weren't particularly difficult. Log in and run a .bat file. She did just fine. Recall the episode where she's memorizing shell commands. Didn't seem such a stretch that she wasn't familiar with the tools they were using. What was her original role in season 1? Thought she was Gideons executive assistant.

Sending messages back in time has been my favourite fan theory so far. Ties in neatly with all the time travel themes in the show, but is believable technology in our current day. It'd be far more plausable than Mr Robot quantum leaping into Elliot from another timeline.
