When I was real young (probably 4 but not sure) we had a parakeet, one time mom was cleaning the cage but it was summer and we had a window open so she told me to hold him tightly so he wouldn't fly away... well, I ended up holding a bit too tight, it turns out. After that we got a kitten.. who ended up hiding under the reclining chair and got squished. Glad I didn't have to see that one. We did better after that though.
