He starts out making it look like it's going to be about why the logical construction isn't valid, but just attacks the claims. The first series of statements doesn't hold even if 1 and 2 are true.

If A, then B
B is true
Therefore A is true

That's not even how logic works. It doesn't matter whether statements 1 and 2 are true, because while statement 3 could be true, it is no way implied by the previous two statements.
