Edmonton is lowest with 6-12 in 1999.

There were probably some teams with 5 wins at some point in the past when they were playing 16 games a season.

Ottawa had 4 wins in 94. 18 game schedule but top 4 teams made playoffs in each division (Ottawa was 4th) in middle of US expansion era.
Ottawa had 4 wins in 93 too. 4 Win Ottawa (3rd seed) played at 6 win Toronto while 10 Win BC stayed at home.

E: 1986 was start of 18 game schedule. No 5 win team has made the playoffs since but Ottawa with 4 did it twice.

Two games into the season? Well that isn't going to last, right? Burris is ancient, and the REDBLACKS won two games last season. I'm sure they'll end up at the bottom soon enough.

Secondly funny CFL note:
They are now out of space to put nameplates on the current Grey Cup trophy. They either need a fresh Grey Cup for next year or a new championship trophy.

In the NHL they just take a ring off the top and put a blank one on the bottom. The Grey Cup doesn't lend itself to that quite as well, I guess they could just pry off one of the plates and shift everything up.

Not really a necessity per se. We can continue talks here until preseason 2016.

Interesting on Jones wanting to get a GM position so quickly after just getting a head coaching job. It's gonna backfire completely because that mix always leads to poor talent retention/acquisitions because of a coaching staff bias

http://www.tsn.ca/league-memo-placing-moratorium-on-coaches-moves-1.410217

quote:

Effective immediately, there will be a moratorium on any coaches’ movement from one Club to another Club, unless such transaction is expressly approved in writing by the Commissioner or his delegate, prior to the movement taking place. This only applies to coaches who are currently under contract with a CFL Club.

For greater clarity, no Member Club or any person connected directly or indirectly with the Club will be allowed to have any contact or discussions with a CFL coach currently under contract with another Club, unless:

(a) permission in writing has been first obtained from the coach’s current Club (President or General Manager) to engage in such discussions and express permission has been granted to enter into a contract with the other Club, and

(b) approval in writing by the Commissioner or his delegate copied to both Clubs and the coach, for the coach to engage in such discussions with the other Club.

Furthermore, the fact that a CFL coach currently under contract attempts to resign with his current Club in order to sign with another Club will not void or circumvent the two pre-conditions above for the duration of the coach’s contract, provided that the coach’s contract is legally enforceable.

This moratorium will be in place until further notice.

Chick is 32, I doubt he has any NFL prospects. Dessler is 29 I think? I doubt he's going down south, he's had a couple of subpar years.
