I'm sure you qualify for food stamps, go apply for that and any other assistance programs available. Your parents really did you no favor by cosigning for a more expensive apartment. Why wasn't finding an open room on craigslist an option? Was it the cats? Rehome them now. The cats well be better off with someone who can afford medical care and better food. You'll be able to reduce your rent by a few hundred as well as utilities. (What's up with BFCers being broke, living with a million animals they won't get rid of?)

Yes. I think it varies state by state add to his much documentation they need. Usually you need a pay stub or two.
