Okay so I have a proposal. For newcomers and Jojo vets alike. The Part 3 anime just ended, lots of people should want to read Part 4 because it is great so why not share the joy and experience the Golden Heart of Morioh ~~~*together*~~~

Let's Read Diamond is Unbreakable

I basically just made this up using my Stand. I think the breaking up will help us focus on particular parts one at a time, but obviously if we do one a week it'll take forever, and one a day schedule is pretty hard to keep to. So how about ~10 chapters a week? Sound good? As it turns out, with a few exceptions it lines up pretty close with each major "story arc", I suppose. So how about it guys? Are you ready for a crazy time?

This should hopefully remain fairly spoiler free. As you can see, we're looking at some nice, slice of life, calm, suburban schooltime fun.

Week 1: Chapter 266 - 273 In which Jojo meets Jojo and then a serial killer.
Week 2: Chapter 274 - 283
Week 3: Chapter 284 - 288 Cell does his taxes
Week 4: Chapter 289 - 293 Unlicensed dentistry adventure.
Week 5: Chapter 294 - 302 Koichi gets a girlfriend!
Week 6: Chapter 303 - 306 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gZvxpFWe9M
Week 7: Chapter 307 - 317 Josuke connects with his dad
Week 8: Chapter 318 - 329 The story gets real meta. Jotaro gets to know his uncle.
Week 9: Chapter 330 - 341 Rohan meets an old friend. Josuke has a crazy get-rich quick scheme.
Week 10: Chapter 342 - 353 Kira loses his sandwich. Yukako gets a makeover.
Week 11: Chapter 354 - 364 Kira gets his coat repaired.
Week 12: Chapter 365 - 377 The gang looks through some old family photos. Mr Kawajiri revitalises his marriage. Rohan plays rock paper scissors.
Week 13: Chapter 378 - 383 A new kid is in town! Can he and Josuke become friends?
Week 14: Chapter 384 - 391 Josuke takes the bus, decides he needs to learn to drive.
Week 15: Chapter 392 - 403 Mr Kawajiri gets a cat. Josuke and Okuyasu meet a stranger on the outskirts of town.
Week 16 Chapter 404 - 417 Josuke has trouble with origami. There is tension between Mr Kawajiri and his son. Rohan plans some home repairs.
Week 17 Chapter 418 - 427 Hayato suffers from Deja Vu
Week 18 Chapter 428 - 429 Josuke learns an important lesson about road safety.

I've been a fan of prog rock for years, and a fan of Yes also, but I was rewatching some of Fringe just now and at the beginning of an episode Roundabout starts up and the first thing that jumped into my brain was "Oh poo poo, Jojo! Do I have another tab open?" before i registered that it was just a part of the show's soundtrack. It's worked it's insidious charisma into my brain. It's dark sensuality overwhelming me.

I always pictured Jotaro saying Star Platinum's The World in a really rushed way, because that is a mouthful for something that happens instantly.

Like, I imagine him practicing saying it in advance so as not to fumble.

I figure he deliberately has it take a while to say so that anyone he fights hears him say "Star Platinum..." before THE WORLD is the Time Stop effect, and they know what's coming long enough to appreciate what a cool handsome badass he is before he punches them 40000 times.

Er, if I'm understanding right, I post my analysis of each chunk and then we all talk about it. I mean, isn't that what people do?

E: to clarify, I don't plan on doing one post per story arc, but I don't want to commit to one post per chapter either. I'd be telling everyone what chapter(s) I plan to read next and then everybody can get ready for when I actually post by reading it/them too.

I agree that's probably the way to do it, af - oh wait, wait whoops looks like I dropped something, dang

I seriously don't understand how their childhoods worked (and I think I said as much already, sorry to repeat) because they can't have had outside help but the stuff with dad went down when they were quite young and they still appeared to at least somewhat function as a family. Clearly Keicho kept Okuyasu in school and must have attended himself? Whatever my opinions are about abuse, Keicho obviously still kept a roof over their heads and fed them and managed money while playing Stand-sleuth. At one point Okuyasu even references a vacation they took so yeah it's bewildering to me. 18 year old real estate agent. Dio gave them a ton of money, I guess

This stuff seriously happens so much in anime I barely even noticed it. The impression I have of Japan is that approximately 50% of all kids just raise themselves somehow like wolves. Except not. Japan's child welfare system is pretty robust too since they can not only feed themselves (and often a sibling) but can somehow afford a mortgage as well.

The first half is a bit of a mixed bag. It suffers from a lot of typical shounen problems Togashi doesn't usually have like pacing fatigue and meaningless fights, but you also get a lot of cool new characters who show up and are totally sweet. It was only when I reached that part I remembered for the majority of the series we've been following amateur hunters; these guys are the pros.

Anyway, it starts improving considerably once the king is born.

Not even amateur hunters. A lot of the dudes in Yorknew and Greed Island aren't even Hunters, they're just nen users.

I think a bunch of people were expecting if they did do a British accent he would sound rougher and more working class, even though that makes no sense and Joseph is in a lot of ways a very accurate upper class English kid. I thought it was a kind of fake O'Brien situation. Like, in that one episode of DS9 O'Brien's wife figures out that O'Brien hasn't been killed in an explosion, but kidnapped because video footage shows him drinking coffee in the afternoon and she knows O'Brien only drinks coffee in the morning. So a whole episode of investigating and revealing what happened and getting O'Brien happens, and then when O'Brien comes back it turns out that he drinks coffee all day all the time and Keiko is just a terrible wife.

Surface picks up the hand in the bottle and tells Hazamada that it won't turn back into a hand again. Whoa, that's pretty serious. But Hazamada seems to not be missing any appendages himself, so I guess damage to Surface doesn't sympathetically affect Hazamada in the manner of other Stand/Stand User pairs. Interesting.

Surface is a stand that inhabits, controls and alters an actual wooden doll. Like The Fool, Strength and so on, damage to the object a stand inhabits doesn't transmit to the user, and other people can see the fake Josuke, it isn't a ghostly presence.
