Haha! I did the same. Got the cultists sprue and grabbed a box of the gnolls too. I've been curious about them for a while, and will probably use them for Mordheim conversions.

why not give it a try!?
I finally got my hands on both the plastic frostgrave wizards boxes and I must say that the quality is fantastic. Huge variety of bits and arms, and the detail is superb. My only complaint is that there's no wizard heads with long luxurious beards in the male one.

I've always been tempted to dabble in the FG minis but always hesitated to buy a box because I know I'd only probably make a couple of each type, so this is the perfect deal. When do the knights come out normally?

Someone in Really-East London Kent has got their mitts on a copy of second edition and has a few things to say about it.

A local group near me is looking to do something regularly at a local gaming cafe, so I better get on with spraying my cultists yellow and adding some details to make them table ready.

Just got my box with wizard, soldier, and knight sprue, and it's a great deal at 20 quid. The knights look great: the sprue is about a third larger than the soldier sprue, comes with six bodies instead of five, but also includes a ton of extras, like 21 heads, 5 shields, a bunch of satchels, etc. I'm gonna have a lot of fun putting together a little warband with these!

All the little extras on all three Frostgrave sprues got me thinking, though: does anyone produce high-quality injection-moulded plastic sprues with just generic fantasy elements, like rats, bags, scrolls, skulls, etc.? You can cram a ton of stuff onto a single sprue, and I'm sure anyone who does 28mm fantasy modelling would find it useful.

I've asked this question a few times elsewhere and never found a satisfactory answer. I'd be all over that sort of thing for my conversions. :(

Have definitely bought both Mantic's crates and the skulls box (have both in my house). What's been lacking for me is more bits oriented stuff. Shields, weapons, things of that nature.

I'm really disappointed with the changes to Fool's gold spell. I mean, yeah the new spell is probably more useful, and the old one was too obvious most of the time and required additional book keeping, but it was so fun.

It used to be a spell where you'd add an extra fake treasure at the start of the battle which would vanish if someone tried picking it up.

Now it essentially teleports the treasure out of someone's hands a few inches.

He hasn't added them into Oathmark either, despite the fact that every Dwarf Catapult is inevitable represented by black power cannon artillery. And there's a dwarf spell for "explosive ammunition".

I suspect it goes all the way back to his first published supplement - a Middle Earth Role Playing adventure he co-wrote...with his mother. Because he was 12 at the time. No guns in Middle Earth, Dark Ages For Everyone! To be honest, he did something much more impressive tan anything I did when I was 12, so I can see how that might have had a big impact on him.

I want to put together a rad greenskin kungfu warband, Wizard either a chronomancer or a thaumatauge high monk kinda dealio. If I was using the corebook, which soldiers and specialists would be cool/themey to reskin as punchmans? I know there's a mystic warrior option in one of the splats, but my group is keeping it vanilla, for now. I have some fantasy football gobbos that would make good Thieves, I guess.

Likely mostly thugs and thieves, depends on the models though. Like if you had a really chunky big 'un they could count as an infantryman (great weapon), or if one was chucking stuff it could be an archer.

Stargrave, releasing this April:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdZdz312bwM

20 minute flip through the main rulebook, starting at 6:45 and ending at 26:30

Stargrave is very much a mixture of Ghost Archipelago and 2nd Edition Frostgrave in spaaace.

Mimicking the GA Heritor/Warden leadership (rather than the FG Wizard/Apprentice) you Captain and First Mate each choose from a selection of 8 shticks that determine abilities and powers - being psychic, being a cyborg, etc. They could have the same shtick or each a different one.
Thug/Thief equivalents are free, and it looks like the other standard henchmen in FG are available, too, ('apothacary' being 'medic', etc) with there being a limited-availibility of other types of crew/henchmen including someone armed with a flamethrower from the looks of it - similar to how FG works. Minus the flamethrower, of course.
Most crew are armed with either a pistol or a carbine.
Any crew member can be declared being a robot/android when you hire them. Presumably there are advantages and disadvantages for being a robot - it was mentioned that the captain can't be a robot, but it looks like the cyborg abilities pretty much give you all you could want in an android leading your force, anyway.

Yeah I’ve been eyeing Deadzone minis as an easy Get In On Stargrave option. It’ll be nice to say to someone “here, spend $30 and you’re all good” for minis game investment.

I'm looking forward to this too, but I need to fill out my sci-fi minis. I have a few that I 3D printed before my Anycubic frustrated me too much and I ordered a sprue of Wargames Atlantic space dwarves from ebay. I love the process of gathering minis and making terrain and objective markers.

I'm assuming this thread is going to cover all *grave games. I put together a few of these Wargames Atlantic space dwarves:

I have so many leftover arms and bits from the two sprues I had. Does anyone know where to get just the bodies for minis? I'm having trouble knowing what to search for. Same with my Frostgrave sprues, (and random Mordheim sprues that a friend gave me) I have enough bits for a handful of minis but no bodies.
